Stuttgart IV 2011

Vom 10.-11. Dezember 2011 richtete unser Club sein erstes internationales Turnier aus - das Stuttgart IV 2011. Nach vier Vorrunden und einem Halbfinale konnte sich schließlich das Team "Cilip" (Crt Podlogar und Filip Dobranic) aus Ljubljana im Finale gegen Science Po (Zhen Jie Im und Michael Thng), München (Markus Dankerl und Vladyslav Yaschenko) und "Making the best of EU free movement" (Megan Field und Stuart Cribb) durchsetzen. Bester Redner wurde Stuart Cribb aus Oxford.

Wir möchten uns nochmal bei den Chefjuroren Maja Cimerman, Daniel Springer und Michael Saliba, allen Teilnehmern und Helfern bedanken, und hoffen, dass euch das Turnier auch sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat! 2012 wird es sicherlich eine Fortsetzung geben.

Die Themen im Einzelnen: 


1. VR: THW make the right to vote contingent on basic knowledge about political issues
2. VR: THB that the EU should limit the amount of energy individuals are allowed to consume.
3. VR: As a parent, THW not lie to its children about the existence of Santa Claus.
4. VR: THW allow young boys to undergo chemical castration to preserve their singing voice.
HF: THW militarily intervene in Syria.
Finale: This house would make Drion's Pill publicly available. (Info slide: Drion's pill is a fictitious suicide method that is comprised of two pills. These pills need to taken with a five day interval between them. The first pill is harmless on its own, but taking both pills will result in a humane death.)
